My NG Birthday

Posted by kalabor106 - November 8th, 2014

Well I'm a day tardy but I guess I've been a member on here for 4 years now. I know that isn't that lengthy but yeah I have been floating around here since 2003 when I saw the flash Badger from TheWeebl. Then on was watching the goofy content on here.

Can recall trying out animation and I really didn't like it. Just was a lot of work and not seeing any real good results. It took too long and in fact I hated it. One of my friends that was big into entertainment wanted me to contribute to his website. I told him I can edit video but... He ended up pushing me into the field of animation. Oh boy was I ecstatic...  more annoyed and complained how I didn't want to animate. Drawing a picture over and over wasn't something I thought was amusing. Done it before and it was just dreadful. But wanting to assist I grabbed my mouse and used the crappy animation program he gave me. Made a full cartoon based off a videogame song on the commodore 64. It was about a pumpkin and a witch. It sucked. But something altered. Some reason I wanted to try again. Got a copy of Toon Boom. Messed with it a little and decided with the help of Rambojoe and the friend that pushed me into this, to make a parody. Contra Rampage was what came out of it. It was ugly as all hell, and I knew it. Rambojoe insisted I upload this tragedy of a flash on to Newgrounds. I didn't want to but did. The problem is It was a really big file and over did the apex file size on NGs. We messaged Tom thinking it was going to be a big fat NO. To our surprise he allowed it. I didn't anticipate what would happen next. The damn thing got front paged! I was so embarrassed and wanted to hide in a hole. This wasn't supposed to be seen. And the miscellaneous reviews of people getting mad and loving it was something I enjoyed reading. It captivated me to see the responses. Something I wasn't use to. Living in Idaho in all. That hooked me big time. It helped to know there were people actually watching and expressing what they thought of my work. Newgrounds I feel really kept me wanting to do this animation stuff. If it wasn't for it I'd be out some place shooting up some meth.

But all I can say is thanks to everyone for making my 4 years on Newgrounds fun and enjoyable. I really mean it.

Cool, I'm here from one year :)

Great. Keep it going!

Happy NGBday!
My third NG birthday is near as well

What will you do for it? I ended up animating and playing some video games. Of what fun. Wish I would of finished it off with some Chocolate milk.

I think I'll just be producing Music. That's fun to do. And I'll be sure to have some Chocolate Milk

right on that is a good way to celebrate it :)

Well I haven't been a Member of Newgrounds for too Long, but I've been using this Site for Years. I'd just Like to say that as a Long time Fan of Cartoons and Animation, your Videos stood Out Among Others. I'd Like to Add that your Most Recent Sonic X-it was especially Inspirational, and Inspired Me to Make an Animation......And a Game, once I get the Software for it. Anyhow, Happy Late 4th NG Birthday. Keep Up the Good Work. :)

The Sonic X-it to me was the first step in I hope the right direction in animation. Done enough animation to know I know nothing about animation. So decided I'd go to school for it... No not really. But I did buy a bunch of books to understand it more, and was hoping in the X-it cartoon it would show.
I'm very glad you found inspiration from my work. Really means a lot to me. I hope to see work from you. If you need any advice or help with anything just ask, and I'll do my best to help.

All I gotta say for now is that I gotta get Another Part-time Job. As of Right Now, I'm Working on getting the Funds for the Software. But around the Time January or February come Around, I'll Definitely get Started on All of that. And the Animation in Your Most Recent Video Greatly Stood Out Among Others (I would Know, as Over this Weekend I did a Lot of Travelling with My School, and Found the Time to Watch All Your Videos at Least Once. It was Like a Crescendo of Greatness Over a Period of 4 Years (Ha....School....). Although, when I do Start Animating, I'll Make Sure to Come to You First for Advice.

What program are you leaning towards? Have any ideas of a flash-cartoon you're going to make?

Well.....As of which Program I'm Thinking of Using......I'm Not Entirely Sure which Program to Choose from ( Maybe Toon Boom? ;) ), but I've so Far had About 4 or 5 Ideas on what to Animate About.....In Around this Order:
1. A Sonic Animation
2. A Megaman Animation
3. A Zelda Animation
4. A Walking Dead Animation
5. A Possible Pokemon/Yugioh Animation

Toon Boom and Flash. You cant go wrong with either. Both have their pros and cons.
Megaman! That is another one I'd like to make another of. Mine was rushed out in 1.5 weeks do to some agreement I had with another website, so couldn't give the love it really needed.
